The guy is a primadonna. Elway was a team player, and I have never liked Jay Cutler. Not to mention D-Mac I don’t believe has gone a full season without missing a game to injury in at least 3 years. You want to know what will happen this year with D-Mac? I am in DC. My take is this. He will make the Redskins a better team because he is a leader and he seems to be a pretty decent fellow. He won’t win us the big one. But he will help the team in much more ways than he will hurt it with picks, errant throws or just a bad day once in awhile. Give this guy a running game, and you might really have something there. Philly could not get a first down on 3rd and 1 nor 4th and 1 to save themselves, remember? The Eagles did McNabb dirty period! They got caught up in the public trend of hating McNabb. There is NO DOUBT that he had little(westbrook) to no weapons for 10 of the 11 years he was there. Yet he carried the team on his back to 5 NFC championship games. The Year he did have TO he got the team to the superbowl and was 3rd in the MVP running. This is pretty whiny, especially for McNabb. I don’t expect stuff like this from him in general. Andy Reid backed up him publicly many times. McNabb has had plenty of support on the Eagles. McNabb had his time. Now its CornKolb’s time. Being an Eagles fan I am a little dissapointed how this has all ended up. I didnt think No5 was like that. Crying behind closed doors and wondering why they didnt go out to the media and say “back off our QB” The thing is… if you start big smiling from ear to ear when you throw a ball into the dirt or pat yourself on the chest mouthing the words “My Bad” you are gonna start getting heat from fans/media alike! For the last couple of years Reid backed him outwardly to the media all the time. “He’s our man” or “Donovan is our QB” was said many times at press conference when McNabb’s quallity was questioned. Donovan McNabb is really showing his true colors. He is a hypersensitive crybaby who feels he is entitled to everything he has. He is practically the only quarterback from his entire draft class that has had ANY success at the NFL level, and if he hadn’t gone and turned into a whiny child over this whole incident, he probably would have had his number retired as an eagle in a couple years (after he retires due to health reasons). Instead, the Eagles organization is moving on without regrets while he tries (in vain) to make himself current again by talking through the media while he oft-injured body heals. Meanwhile, Kolb hasn’t been stellar in the preseason but has shown flashes of brilliance and has posted an 85 and change QB rating (15 points higher than McNabbs) while completing 60% of his passes. And that 85 comes without any touchdowns. He also has the highest average yards per pass completed of any STARTING quarterback throughout the preseason (look it up). Fantasy football is one thing, but all that really matters in the end is winning. And Palmer can definitely do that. Our running game pretty much carried our offense on its own last year, and by adding slot guys like Bryant and Shipley, as well as rookie TE Gresham, we’ve ensured that we have a lot more options on third down. Move the ball, manage the game, and win. Long bomb passes are crowd pleasers, but those alone rarely get you deep into the playoffs or to the super bowl. I’d much rather see reasonable and smart passes for fifteen to twenty yards at a time.
